This may sound dumb but I would have loved a good vacuum as a wedding gift. The biggest reason is that I have bad allergies and even if I didn't it would just be nice to have one that works well (our first one broke within a year). They aren't cheap so this would be a great gift to a young couple just starting out.

I bet a good one is really important to you. I have a cheap one and have to go over areas a few times to get things that I can see… I can't imagine what's left that I can't see! They are extremely pricey, too.
Great ideas Anne, to me the airfare would the best gift for creating memories, mainly because a destination can make memories more so than a product. On second thought, the mattress may help create fond memories too ;-)
