Raise your hand if you’re lazy! *my hand goes up* This is another good registry top up type gift, or something that’s nice and small to travel to a destination wedding. This is a super easy, very affordable little wedding gift.
I think I originally got my address stamp “free” via Vistaprint, completely on a whim. [You have to pay for shipping.] I use this thing all the time!!
Remember that some people go all Lady Ga Ga (crazy) about name changes and marriage, so they may ooh and ahh over this one. There are also those in the Not Name Changing and Both Name Changing camps, so make sure to check with the couple. Additionally, many couples move a fair bit after they are married, so keep that in mind when deciding how much $$ to invest in this one. The approximately free (maybe $5?) Vistaprint version might be the best choice.
[Update: As of May 21, 2012, “approximately free” actually means $8.50 for shipping on the small address stamp, so it did cost a tad more than expected.]
Vistaprint can be very spammy once they have your email, though you can unsubscribe, so I would recommend using your thus-designated email account or one that you don’t use very often. Using the provided link will show some tell-a-friend discounts of 50%+ and give you a $5 credit (which I doubt can be applied to shipping, but I don’ t know), the products with discounts change fairly frequently.
Another alternative is a custom stamp from Etsy, they can be much cuter. Click here for some search results. Self-inking stamps are more user friendly because you don’t require an ink pad, but the regular stamps tend to be cuter.
Would you like this as a destination wedding gift? A shower gift? Just as a unique wedding gift?
