No need to buy anything special for it! You just need paper, string, markers, glue, and scissors! Check out out step by step instructions below.
Getting Creative with Your Banner
Don’t feel obligated to just do a welcome banner! You can put anything on your pencil banner! Name of your child or students, name of school, or even just a fun inspirational message! If you are feeling more colorful you can consider making your pencils into pencil crayons and having each one a different color! You wouldn’t have to add the erasers then. Think outside the box with this one and have some fun!
Creating Your Colorful Pencil Welcome
Materials Needed
- String
- Colorful Markers
- Liquid clear glue
- Scissors
- Glue Stick / Glue Gun
- Red, White, and Yellow Paper.
Directions
- Cut pencil shapes from your yellow paper. (Cut one and use it to trace the rest).
- Take your red or pink paper and cut erasers for your pencils.
- Next you will need to cut out white squares to go onto your pencils.
- Take one of your markers and draw zig zag pattern to mark the end of your pencils, followed by coloring in the tips.
- Glue on your erasers to the end of your pencils (You can use liquid or a glue stick).
- Glue on your white pieces, ensure you give it plenty of time to dry if using liquid glue.
- Use your markers to write a special message such as Welcome on your white spaces.
- Glue your string to the back of your pencils using a glue gun (Parents or teachers should assist with this part).
- Allow everything to dry! Once it’s dry hang it up and enjoy.
