I love how perfect these are for making something last minute, too. If you need a quick 3 ingredients Halloween snack, you pretty much can’t go wrong with this recipe. Perhaps some plastic spiderweb serving ware, or terrifyingly tasty accoutrements will put these beauties in the spotlight. Arrange them on platters in batches for a skin-crawling, yet mouthwatering effect!

Instructions For Making Spooky Spider Eggs Recipe:

 

Hard Boiled Eggs:

  1. Put eggs in a single layer in a pan and cover with cold water. 
  2. Set to med/high heat and once water starts to boil, set timer for 10 minutes.
  3. After 10 minutes, remove pan from heat and drain the water.
  4. In the same pan, cover eggs with cold water to reduce temperature of the eggs and add about a dozen ice cubes. 
  5. Crack the shells of the eggs by lightly tapping them against a hard surface (such as counter) and place them back in cool water.
  6. Remove the cooled cracked eggs from the pan start removing shells.

Cut hard boiled egg in half vertically. Remove all yolks and place them in a separate bowl.

Mash yolks with a fork and add Mayonnaise to your desired consistency (we like lots of mayo and put about as much mayo as we have yolk, 50/50 ratio)

Fill the egg whites with yolk mixture and set aside.

Cut several olives in half, using one half as the spider body and the other half to make little spider legs.

Now bring back your prepared eggs and carefully assemble your spider on top of the yolk mix by first placing the body (half olive) and then the legs (half olive slices) on each side. Make sure your spiders have 8 legs total.
