These adorable melted snowman cookies are absolutely perfect for any holiday party, get together, or just a tasty treat during the winter season. Simply mix your ingredients together, cover with plastic, and place in refrigerator to set. Once this is done roll your dough into small balls and place onto a cookie sheet to bake. This recipe is so simple and fun that kids will love to help make them.

Decorating the Melted Snowman Cookies  

Once your cookies are out of the oven and have time to cool its time for the fun part – decorating! Mix your frosting together and ice your cookies – allow time for frosting to set and harden before adding your snowman accessories. Kids will absolutely love being creative and making their own original snowman! 

Melting Snowman Cookies

Prep Time: 35 minutes
Chill Time: 120 minutes
Cook Time: 7 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours, 42 minutes
Makes: 36 minutes

Ingredients:

Cookies:

Snowman Frosting:

  • 4 Tbsp sweet cream butter (room temp)
  • 2 C powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 6 Tbsp whole milk

First,

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Line a cookie sheet with a silicone mat.
  3. Add the granulated sugar in a small bowl.

Recipe for Snowman Cookies:

  1. Combine the powdered sugar, butter, pure vanilla, almond, and egg in a mixing bowl.
  2. With an electric mixer blend the ingredients together.
  3. Use a rubber spatula to stir in the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar.
  4. Roll into a ball.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
  6. Move the bowl to the refrigerator to chill for two hours.
  7. Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Use cookie scoop size #60 to scoop dough balls.
  8. With your hands, roll each scoop of dough into one and a half dough balls.
  9. Roll each dough ball in the bowl of white sugar.
  10. Move the dough balls onto a prepared cookie sheet.
  11. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes.
  12. Move to a cooling rack.

Frosting:

  1. Add the melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and three tablespoons of milk in a small mixing bowl.
  2. Use an electric mixer to mix all of the ingredients together.
  3. If the frosting is too thick add more milk, one tablespoon at a time.
  4. If the frosting is too thin add a teaspoon of powdered sugar to the bowl, one teaspoon at a time. (The frosting should spread over the cookie dripping on the sides of the cookies.)
  5. Set the cookies aside to slightly harden.
  6. Add the two black eyes and orange nose to the cookies.
  7. Transfer the cookies to a serving platter.
