This is a super fun and cute way to give some play dough!  Aka, a creative and fun way to give a cash gift.  It is especially good if you would like the recipients to use it for an activity, to buy sporting gear or for a honeymoon activity.

This is such an easy and fun way to wrap up a gift of cash! I know that teenagers love cash, but it feels so boring to just give an envelope. Play-doh spices it up so much more!

It’s a super-simple concept… you buy a can of play-doh, you may elect to remove the play-doh (or not, if you’re using the new plastic Canadian money, though the play-doh will make it smell) and insert your cash gift inside!

Dress it up with some cellophane wrap, wrap like a Christmas cracker, or put into a gift bag.  You can also often find non brand name play-doh at the dollar store.  I’ve purchased some at Dollarama before.  Amazon sells it too –Play-Doh Classic 4 Pack

Consider matching the colour of the jar to the colour of the bills inside.  In Canada, that would be brown for $100 bills, orange or red for $50’s and green for $20’s.  Americans… green works for everything I guess.

Your card could say something like the following:

Congratulations on your recent nuptials, we would really like you to be able to play in the sun, so we have included some play dough that we hope you can use while on your honeymoon.

or

Now that you’re growing up and acting all mature, remember that you need to take time to play.  Use this play dough to have some newlywed fun!

Note: If you know someone may be highly sensitive or allergic to gluten, this is probably not a good one for them.  Play Doh contains gluten, but there are some gluten free alternatives out there as well.

Remember: The #1 Rule – ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS give a card.  A card with more words than just your name.

If you click on some of those pretty pictures up there, you will link to the sale page on Amazon.  Should you choose to purchase any of these items, I will receive a very small % of your purchase.  Think of it as a nice way to thank me for helping stir up some creative gift ideas.  :-)
