Valentine’s Day Heart Rice Krispies Treat
Although these adorable heart shaped treats can be made for any event: birthday’s, wedding’s, or just a fun afternoon treat – these would be perfect for Valentine’s Day! Great for treating the kids after school, class parties, office parties, or just a sweet treat for you and your sweet heart. You can change up the color of the rice krispies by adding more red food coloring to make it darker, use other colors like purple, green, and blue! Use different shades of candy melts to change up your candy layer. When it comes to the heart shape you can use ANY size heart shaped cookie cutter! Depending how many you need, if you need a larger amount consider a small cutter, if you are making for a smaller group use a larger size. You can also do various sizes!
Heart Rice Krispies Treat Recipe
- Servings: 9 (Depending on size of heart cookie cutter)
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 5 minutes
- Down Time: 1 hour

Items Required:
- Large pot
- large spoon
- 9”x13” baking pan
- parchment paper (optional, but makes clean up easier)
- heart cookie cutter
- baking sheet
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp butter
- 10 package mini marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 10 drops red food coloring
- 1 cup pink candy melts
- Valentine’s sprinkles
- Heart cookie cutter
Directions:
- Line a baking pan with parchment paper (makes this recipe easier), or grease the baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat.
- Add marshmallows, and heat until melted, stirring often.
- Add the food coloring
- stir until the color is solid.
- Add the rice krispies, and stir until combined.
- Pour the mixture into the baking pan, and refrigerate for 1 hour to set.
- Remove the parchment paper with treats from the pan, and set on a counter or cutting board, and use the cookie cutter to cut as many hearts as you can.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add candy melts to a small bowl, and heat on high for 30 second intervals in the microwave, stirring between each heating session, until fully melted.
- Dip one side of each heart into the melted candy, and set on the parchment sheet. Add sprinkles.
- Transfer to the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, until the candy sets
- Enjoy!
