Can You Really Have Enough Green on St Patty’s Day?

No, of course! These make a bite-sized snack that is perfectly ideal for a dessert, kid’s snack or sneaky holiday treat for any sweet tooth around! The combination of green frosting and soft cake texture is enough to encourage anyone to take a bite.

If you’re ready to make some for yourself but you don’t happen to have any green frosting on hand, try this out instead:

How to Make Vanilla Frosting Green

You can use any type of frosting you’d like, as long as it’s vanilla and white or at least off-white. After that, all you need is some green gel food coloring. This helps the color to spread nice and evenly, especially if you are using something like a stand mixer to combine it smoothly.

Note that you should have some separate food coloring on hand for the ingredients list, as this is just to replace green frosting if you haven’t got any!

Top With Candy, Sprinkles and More!

What makes these delicious cupcakes such a joy is how much of your own personality you can add to them! Whip them up just the way you like using a variety of different types of sprinkles, edible decorations and of course, candy!

The recipe we’ve got to share with you below uses rainbow candy strips to create iconic, not to mention adorable rainbows. Use this as inspiration to draw from any of your favorite sweet treats to further personalize your very own mini cupcake shamrock recipe! Why not try something like Lucky Charms for a familiar and clever touch?
