Christmas season is approaching which means it’s time to bust out the baking supplies and get baking! It’s the one time of year I find myself baking a lot. There’s so many options and fun recipes out there for this time of year! For something a little easier yet fun, try out this Grinch wafer cookie recipe!

But let’s be real, sometimes there just isn’t enough time to get baking done for every party, potluck and get together. So if you can create something delicious that doesn’t require a ton of steps I’m all for it! This Grinch wafer cookie recipe is exactly that! Delicious and minimal steps. Perfect for last minute parties, classroom parties, or just a fun activity to do with the kids one evening.

You only need a few ingredients to create these fun cookies, and that’s the beauty of them! Also, the decorations lend well to just how thematic and instantly recognizable they are. Set these out and you might hear someone pipe into their own rendition of ‘Mr. Grinch’!

A few helpful tips and inspiration for making your Grinch themed Christmas cookies:

  • This would also work great with sugar cookies if you feel like making your own cookies!  
  • if you can’t find green candy melts, use white ones and add green food coloring to them. 
  • If you are having trouble tracking down candy melts, regular icing can also work as long as you don’t make it too thick.

You can also create other characters from the Grinch if you want. Simply have different candy melts and get a bunch of fun sprinkles. Creating Whoville characters! The more colors the better, make a fun day out of it! Also watch the classic Grinch cartoon or one of the movies prior to getting inspiration, or while watching. And last but not least, pair these up with a nice mug of hot chocolate.

Ingredients 

  • 1 Package Vanilla Wafer Cookies
  • 1lb Green Candy Melts
  • Cooking Spray
  • Heart Sprinkles (Michaels)
  • Wax Paper

Directions 

1. Spray a microwave safe bowl or cup with cooking spray and pour in the candy melts.

2. Microwave for 30 seconds. Remove from microwave, stir. Spray with a little more cooking spray and place back into the microwave for 30 seconds. Keep repeating until Candy has fully melted.

3. Dip 3/4 of the wafer cookie into the melted candy.

4. Place on a piece of wax paper & quickly add a heart sprinkle.

5. Let the cookies sit until candy has set.
